Studio Address: 1024 Dupont St. Unit 110 (click for google map directions)
Contact: 647-785-4522 (Call upon arrival—the building can be a maze!)
Arrival Time: Please try to avoid arriving early so we can finish with the previous client. Feel free to text if you arrive early and I’ll come and let you in if I’m able.
Parking: There is residential street parking in the area. Try Westmoreland and Salem first. Dupont St. is an option but keep in mind you will be towed on Dupont St. during the “no stopping” periods (weekdays 7-9am on the South side and 4-6pm on the North side).
-
The Planning Call: We will have a 60-minute phone consultation (ideally a few days to a week before the shoot) to gain clarity and direction. Creative communication and clarity are very important, so please try not take these calls “on the go” or in a distracting place.
It is your responsibility to reach out with your availability for a phone call. If I don’t hear from you, I tend to reach out the day before to see if we can connect on the phone, but our availabilities may not align.
Here are a few sample questions that I will likely ask you during the phone call:
What are you hoping these headshots will help you achieve?
What actors, roles or characters resonate with you?
What “looks” are you going for? Hint: Commercial, Dramatic, Professional, Edgy and Period are typical options.
What would you like me to know?
The goal for the call is to understand your goals and your vision so I can help you to create professional headshots that are valuable to you. I will provide practical advice for your consideration, but I’m on board with whatever direction you think is best.
Hard Stops: If you have a firm departure time, please let me know with as much notice as possible.

The "Must-Have": Bring a pair of jeans with pockets and belt loops; they are helpful for posing.
Fit & Texture: Fitted clothes tend to look best. Choose textures over busy patterns (plaid gets a pass, though). Bring a variety of necklines (High, Scoop, V-neck, Collared).
Branding & Graphics: These are not strictly against the rules, but their use is very limited and the option to remove them in post is not always available.
Glasses: Use frames without lenses if possible. Glasses with blue light filters are unusable.
Undergarments: Bring black and nude bras (strapless and with straps). Note which tops are see-through.
Prep: All clothes must be steamed/ironed and lint-free. Use a wardrobe bag, as folded clothes will wrinkle.
Photos: Before the shoot, email photos of your wardrobe. Selfies of you in each outfit are ideal, but sending wardrobe on hangers is the next best thing.
Note: These are suggestions, not rules. It’s a good idea to consider them if you want a conventional headshot. What you wear and how you present yourself is totally up to you. My philosophy is you can break as many rules as you want, but it should be done intentionally, not by accident.

Professional Artists: Specialized HMUA recommendations are available upon request. If you are bringing in an HMUA of your own, please confirm the amount of time they will spend with you in studio. 4 hours total is ideal.
DIY Styling: If doing your own, bring all tools and products to the studio for touch-ups.
Grooming: Shaving between looks is fine; just mention your plan during the consultation.
HMUA Prep: If hiring one of my recommended artists, wash hair the day before (no residue), arrive without makeup, and do not style your hair beforehand.

Proofs: Watermarked proofs are for selection only. No public sharing (Instagram/Facebook) of watermarked proofs is permitted.
Costs: Each purchased image is $50 + HST, due upon selection. I do not deliver un-watermarked or un-retouched files.
Turnaround: Retouches arrive approximately 2–3 weeks after selection and payment.
Add-ons: Name-on-file formatting ($5 + HST) and one-week rush service ($10 + HST) are available upon request.
